Jeb the Butcher:
Cut, Cured, and Smoked Meat in Isle of Wight County

Jeb the Butcher has been serving the Isle of Wight community since 2001, starting as a retail meat market and growing into a USDA-inspected meat processor and wholesaler. Today, his business employs five people and offers fresh-cut meats, along with house-cooked, cured, and smoked products. USDA inspection allows Jeb to sell beyond Virginia, and many of his items carry the Virginia’s Finest designation.

In addition to traditional offerings, Jeb’s shop features homemade Korean specialties prepared by his wife, including kimchi, bulgogi, and egg rolls. His reputation for quality is reflected in past collaborations, such as providing 240 country hams for testing by a USDA research lab.

Jeb’s journey began in the 1970s when he trained at a meat cutting school in Toledo, Ohio. After gaining additional experience at Anheuser-Busch, he brought his skills to Coastal Virginia, drawn by the region’s strong agricultural heritage. He set out to contribute to that legacy alongside other local producers across Southside communities.

Stop by the retail shop at 15668 Carrollton Blvd. (open Monday-Saturday, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM, and Sundays, 10:00 AM-4:00 PM) or call (757) 238-7044!
